The Dynamite Vikings

The Dynamite Vikings was established in Copenhagen in 1998 by
Estonian guitarist Jaak Sooäär,
Swedish bass player Thommy Andersson
and Danish drummer Karsten Mathiesen
to explore new territories of classical power trio of guitar, bass and drums. Since then the music of the trio has developed to unique original music style which could be described as "progressive postmodern jazzrock".
Although starting out from jazzy background, the reviewers have mentioned Zappa and earlier King Crimson as stylemarks of The Dynamite Vikings.
The trio has released three CDs "Vikingology" (Cope Records, 2003),
"Search For Happiness" (Cowbell Music, 2006)
and "Meaning of the Party" (Elwood, 2008)
and has performed in Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Belgium, Finland, Germany and France.

The Dynamite Vikings blev etableret i København i 1998 af den estiske guitarist Jaak Sooäär, den svenske bassist Thommy Andersson og den danske trommeslager Kalle Mathiesen for at udforske nye områder af den klassiske power trio bestående af guitar, bas og tommer.
Siden da har trioens musik udviklet sig til en unik original spillestil, som kunne beskrives som “progressiv postmoderne jazzrock”. Selvom de er startet ud fra en jazzet baggrund, har anmelderne nævnt Zappa og tidligere King Crimson som “stylemarks” for The Dynamite Vikings.
Trioen har udgivet 3 cd’er “Vikingology” (Cope Records, 2003), "Search For Happiness" (Cowbell Music, 2006) og "Meaning of the Party" (Elwood, 2008) og de har spillet i Danmark, Estland, Letland, Litauen, Rusland, Belgien, Finland, Tyskland og Frankrig.
