Det bliver ikke bedre. Vores egen Benjamin Koppel sammen med to fantastiske amerikanere Scott Colley og Brian Blade.

Brian Blades legende trommer møder Scott Colleys overbevisende improvisationer i dedikeret samspil med Benjamin Koppels lyriske saxofon.

 

Alle tre musikere har komponeret musik til trioen og der vil både være stilfærdig og poetisk jazz samt kraftfulde rockinspirerede undergenrer.

 

Trommeslageren Brian Blade er en af de vigtigste trommeslagere i det 21. århundrede og spiller blandt andet med Wayne Shorter og Herbie Hancock.

 

Scott Colley som er manden bag kontrabassen har spillet med Chris Potter, Jim Hall og Kenny Werner for bare at nævne et par stykker og Benjamin Koppel er Danmarks mest internationalt anerkendte saxofonist og har medvirket på mere end 200 musikindspilninger.

 

Trioens debutalbum blev rost til skyerne og rangerer på jazzmagasinet DownBeats liste over årets bedste jazzudgivelser i 2015 og til livekoncert er de bare helt eminente. Det bliver dialogiske sammenfletninger af melodiske fraseringer, moderne rytmer og tonelandskaber

 

 

Benjamin Koppel (b. 1974, Denmark):

Benjamin Koppel is one of the most award-winning musicians of his generation. He has released more than 30 CDs as band leader that include collaborations with giants like Paul Bley, Miroslav Vitous, and Phil Woods. In 2011, Koppel became a cultural knight of France for his major contribution to French jazz via collaborations with Daniel Humair and many more.

Koppel runs two annual festivals -- Summer Jazz and Winter Jazz -- in Copenhagen, Denmark.

 

Scott Colley (b. 1963, USA):

Scott Colley is the bassist choice for such jazz legends as Herbie Hancock, Jim Hall, Andrew Hill and Michael Brecker. His remarkably empathetic skills, strong melodic sense and improvisational abilities can be heard in groups led by colleagues Chris Potter, John Scofield, Adam Rogers, Brian Blade, David Binney and Kenny Werner. Furthermore, Colley has a list of releases as leader to his name. These features musicians such as Bill Frisell, Mark Turner, Ralph Alessi and many more.

 

Brian Blade (b. 1970, USA):

Brian Blade has established himself as one of the most important drummers of the 21st century. His exceptional abilities behind the drums have given Blade the opportunity to work with the who’s who of the jazz world and other rhythmic genres. To name a few, Blade has collaborated with Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Daniel Lanois. And in the jazz world he has been a regular member of both Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock’s bands. Lastly, Blade has been very successful with his own projects The Fellowship Band and Mama Rosa.
